Dear challenge participants,

we are excited to announce that the validation data is now available for download and that the submission system for validation data landmarks has been opened. We again apologize for the delay and are looking forward to your contributions!

Alongside the pyramidal .tiff WSIs of the valiation data, we released landmarks for the IHC WSIs (columns ihc_x, ihc_y). The columns he_x, he_y are empty in this dataframe. The easiest way to generate an appropriate submission dataframe would be to fill these columns with registered landmark coordinates. All landmark coordinates are provided in micrometers. The base resolution of the .tiff files is 10X at level 0. The exact MPP for each WSI is provided in the landmark dataframe. MPPs for a higher level x in the image pyramid can be computed with this formula:

mpplvlx = mpp10X*2^x

Due to a simpler technical implementation and feedback from the annotators, we have decided to change the ranking metric to the median of the 90th percentile of the distances between registered and annotated target landmarks in each image pair. You can inspect the evaluation code that we will use in the ACROBAT Github repository: https://github.com/rantalainenGroup/ACROBAT We also uploaded the annotation protocol for annotator 1 and a jupyter notebook that exemplifies how to display landmarks. The protocol for annotator 2 will be published there shortly as well.

We aim to release the test set on July 15th. Further information on how to submit your registered test set landmarks and regarding the algorithm description will follow alongside then.

In case anything remained unclear, please do not hesitate to contact us, we are happy both to answer your questions or receive any kind of feedback!

Best wishes Philippe Weitz, Leslie Solorzano, Masi Valkonen
