Evaluation metric question

Evaluation metric question

  By: agaldran on Aug. 24, 2024, 2:25 p.m.

Dear organizers,

May I ask what happens if the image is fully negative but the model predicts, let's say, a single pixel as positive? Does that count as DSC=0? This is quite an important detail for me, I will appreciate any information you can provide, thanks.

Cheers,

Adrian

Dear Adrian,

Thank you for your question.

Yes, according to the Dice Similarity Coefficient (DSC) formula, if an image is fully negative but the model predicts even a single positive pixel, the DSC will indeed be zero.

If you have any more questions or need further clarification, please feel free to ask.

Best regards,
