Labels vs Instances in json file ?

Can someone explain me the difference between labels and instances in the annotation (json) files?

Oh, I checked again and find that the "labels" are consistent across teeth objectets while "instances" do not, so it is appropriate to use the "labels" for network training. Btw I found that there exists one situation that different instances may belong to the same class, which occurs in few upper objects.
