Inquiry about Masking Guidelines

Inquiry about Masking Guidelines

  By: hoheon0509 on July 26, 2024, 2:15 a.m.

Dear Organizer,

As I was reviewing the mask images, I noticed that there are instances where positive masking is present in the empty spaces, while in other images it is not. It appears that there might be annotations from multiple pathologists, each providing their own annotations.

Could you please provide me with the annotation masking guidelines used for this challenge? Understanding the guidelines will help clarify the inconsistencies I have observed and ensure that my work aligns with the standards set by the challenge.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best regards,

Ho Heon Kim

Hi,

Apologies for the confusion caused by inconsistent labelling. The issue likely arose because, during labelling, we classified closed lumen areas as cancer areas and excluded open lumen areas. However, some closed lumen areas may have been mistakenly captured as open in the final training images.

Moving forward, we will ensure a more thorough review of subsequent test sets, and all open lumen areas will be excluded.
