Pretrained Model Guidelines for the Challenge

Pretrained Model Guidelines for the Challenge

Hi, thanks to the organizers for setting up this challenge. I'm seeking clarity on the rules for using pretrained models. Are participants permitted to use any pretrained models for the competition? If so, are there any restrictions on the types of pretrained models we can use? Specifically, I'm curious about the eligibility of models pretrained on fundus images for tasks like vessel segmentation, as well as the use of models trained on color medical images (excluding fundus) for fine-tuning or feature extraction. Could you provide detailed guidelines or restrictions on utilizing these pretrained models? Thank you

Hi,

Thank you for your interest!

There is no limitation to using the online pre-trained models in this challenge.

zolnamar's message included a question about models that were pre-trained on external fundus images. Can you please clarify which type of pre-trained models are allowed? I thought that external fundus image data and models that were trained on external fundus data are not allowed in this challenge.

Thank you for your question!

Using pre-trained models (even those trained on fundus images) which are online available, is allowed.

Hello, Thank you for organising this challenge. I have 2 follow up questions:

Can we use external datasets to train our model?

Can we create segmentation masks ourselves on the provided dataset for training?

Thanks Gagan

@yeganeh.madadi Thank you for your clear and detailed answer to my questions. It's great to know that there are no restrictions on using publicly available pretrained models. Thank you again.
