Shifting deadlines?

Shifting deadlines?

Dear organizers,

We just noticed the different deadlines that appeared on the website and, in particular, the 'cut-off' for submissions that now appears to be on August 6, instead of the original challenge deadline of August 15? Is my interpretation correct that this means that you have actually shifted the deadline for challenge submissions backwards by nine days? I'd say this is quite uncommon for a challenge and a bit unfortunate. For our team this would mean that - also due to scheduled summer holidays - it will become very difficult to participate in this otherwise excellent challenge.

Hi,

thank you for your inquiry.

The end of phase 2 by August 6 was long planned. This is due to the difficulties in running the sensitivity analysis for all the submissions.

We aimed at concluding phase 3 within August 15 to ease the process of paper submission.

We understand that these are also vacation months for most of us. We can grant the extention of phase 2 until August 15.

The publication of the leaderboard for Phase 3 will also be postponed accordingly. In this phase there will be no work required for the participants as the algorithms will not change.

However, as of now we cannot guarantee that we postpone the paper submission deadline.

I hope that this decision helps your team and all other participants

Best regards, Antonio
