How to interpret the "Skills Application" task?

How to interpret the "Skills Application" task? ¶

In the .csv files for tasks.csv files, a lot of the entries have something called "skills application". Sounds very generic. By watching the video during those time ranges it is hard to understand what "skills application" actually means. What is it? Some information about what the individual tasks are would be helpful too. Thank you.
