Contrast of MRI

Contrast of MRI

For Task 1, some MRIs are acquired with Gadolinium contrast. If the input MRI has Gadolinium contrast, does the output CT reflect this contrast as well, or is the contrast effect ignored in the output? Thank you.

Dear Nikou,

The effect depends on the order of CT and MRI acquisition and whether the scans are performed on the same day. The most noticeable impact occurs when MRI with Gd is performed before CT on the same day.

For part of the data, the acquisition date is available, so you can check that. Note that if several days have passed between the CT and MRI, the effect is likely negligible. While some studies suggest gadolinium accumulation in certain areas of the brain, it is unlikely to be visible on CT after a few days.

Best,

Matteo
