Do I need to re-upload data when I want to use it elsewhere on the platform?¶

In general, data can be re-used when it has already been uploaded to the platform—assuming you have permission to access that data. Where you can re-use data, you will be given to the option to select an existing file and search for the data either by it's original file name, or by its universally unique identifier (uuid). You may also use the API for the same purpose.

Note that the above only applies to data that was saved as a file in storage. Some data, like annotations created in a reader study, are not stored in this way and cannot be found as a file to be re-used elsewhere.

Some data is protected against outside access, such as ground truth data in challenges. As such, it can never be re-used anywhere else on the platform.
